Tyler Collette

M.A. Sociology - Texas A&M University – Kingsville

Before TAMUK:

Graduated in 2012 from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. in Anthropology with a minor in American Studies. In 2012 he completed his first international research in Spain looking at cross cultural differences in preferences for narratives among children. For two years before pursuing his MA, Tyler worked as an accountant. During this time he lived in northern Indiana in a small town called Elkart.  


  • Has contributed chapters in cross-cultural psychology
  • Currently has articles submitted for publication on cross cultural moral development
  • Articles in works to submit on cross cultural differences of transgressions, student complaints, anti-fat attitudes, impression formation, and attitude change.

 Family Information:

Tyler has one brother who lives north of San Antonio with his wife and two kids. Mason, his nephew, is has just turned 5  and has taken an extreme interest in becoming an academic. Robin, 3, is still convinced that she will grow up to become a dinosaur. Extended family include 14 cousins on his mothers side, who he is very close to. Tyler enjoys spending his time with family, and traveling as much as possible. Recent trips include Japan, to visit his girlfriends family, Netherlands, Jamaica, Indiana, Michigan, California, and Nevada. Anywhere with a beautiful landscape is a prime location. Over the summers Tyler conducts cross cultural research in Spain.
