Before TAMUK:

Mr. Chris Garcia earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance both from TAMUK. His experience includes volunteering and working with AmeriCorps, CASA, and the American Cancer Society. In addition to lecturing, Mr. Garcia is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Intern and currently volunteers with Weavers of Love Inc., and The South Texas Colonias Initiative providing no cost counseling to rural residents.

Rural Mental Health, Gerontology

Family Information:

Mr. Garcia was raised in Bishop, TX. Besides spending time with his family and two dogs, he enjoys listening and playing music, community activism, and fixing cars.
