Astronomy Public Viewing
Join us at the TAMUK Observatory for the Astronomy Open House on Thursday, November 3rd beginning at 7:00 PM. We will be viewing our close neighbor, the Moon, and remembering the 41st anniversary of Apollo 12, the second manned mission to the Moon.
In addition to the Moon we will have several other things to view in the telescope, too. We will view Jupiter, which is known as the King of the Planets, along with Uranus and Neptune.
The observatory is located on the third floor of Hill Hall (the physics building) on the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Campus. Hill Hall is East of the Memorial Student Union Building (MSUB) located at the North-East corner of University Boulevard and Santa Gertrudis Avenue in Kingsville. Parking is available in Lot 4 located between the MSUB and Hill Hall, Lot A located at the corner of Santa Gertrudis and Armstrong Street, and street side along Santa Gertrudis Avenue.
For more information about the public viewing or the astronomy program at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, contact Mr. Charles Allison.
