History Fair
Resources for Creating An Entry
Since 1980, the John E. Conner Museum has sponsored the Coastal Bend Regional History Fair. Middle school and high school students from throughout the Coastal Bend region are invited to participate in the event. The Coastal Bend Regional History Fair is one of twenty-two regional history fairs in Texas. The competition follows the guidelines of the National History Day program and is open to all students from 6th through 12th grades. The Coastal Bend Regional History Fair provides an opportunity for students to develop their knowledge of history, critical thinking skills, analytical reading, writing, public presentation, media design, and performance skills through creative and original papers, performances, documentaries, websites, or exhibits. This year’s Coastal Bend History Fair will be held on Saturday, March 2.
For information in starting the program on your campus, contact the Conner Museum at 361-593-2810 or through email at connermuseum@tamuk.edu.
