Javelina Cup Mathematics Competition 2016 Winners

Fifth Annual Javelina Cup Mathematics Competition

Thirty-five eighth, ninth, and tenth graders from area schools competed in the Javelina Cup Mathematics Competition held on December 10, 2016.

Individual Winners

1st place

Ethan Patras, a seventh grader from Flour Bluff Jr. High, earned the first place award, a $1,500 TAMUK scholarship.

2nd place

Nathan Black, an eighth grader from Flour Bluff Jr. High, earned the second place TAMUK scholarship of $1,000.

3rd place

John David Regalado, an eighth grader from Flour Bluff Jr. High, earned the third place TAMUK $500 scholarship.

 

Team Trophies

Team 1st

The first place team trophy went to Flour Bluff Jr. High: Nathan Black, Alicia Flores, JD Regalado, and AJ Ward.
Anthony Gillespey was their team sponsor.

Team 2nd

The second place team trophy went to Aransas Pass High School:  Sebastian Chadwich, Juan Lozano-Cantu, Gavin Stephens, and Brody Wagner. 
Mayra Lozano was their team sponsor.

Team 3rd

The third place team trophy went to Freer High Schooll:  Rashel Lerma, Sarah Perez, Adam Rangel, and Riley Sharber.  Tapas Bannerjee was their team sponsor.
