Christine Bergan, Assistant Professor Communication Sciences and Disorders
Dr. Christine Bergan joins us as a new assistant professor in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program in the Department of Biological and Health Sciences. She brings with her five years of university level teaching and clinical supervision from Stephen F Austin State University, where she also served as Program Director for two years, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She has two master’s degrees, one in Vocal Performance from University of Northern Iowa and one in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the University of Iowa. Her Ph.D. is in Voice Science and Speech and Hearing Science and is from the University of Iowa. She has over 20 years of experience as a vocal performer and professional singer and 20 years of experience teaching voice and piano as well as directing a variety of choirs and bands in many different styles of music. She is enthusiastic about her field and the profession of speech-language pathology and passionate about teaching and supervising both graduate and undergraduate students and in mentoring research projects and theses.
