About Us

The Foundation:

· Has been designated to receive major and planned gifts on behalf of the university.

· Is an independent, private, non-profit, corporation that has received a charter from the State of Texas and  exists for the sole purpose of supporting Texas A&M University- Kingsville

· Is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization making most donations to the Foundation tax-deductible.  We are a Type III, fully integrated supporting organization with a long and continuous relationship with the university.

· Qualifies for matching gifts through education programs with most corporations.

History:

The Foundation was organized in 1972 as the Texas A&I Development Foundation for the sole purpose of supporting the University. Over the years, the name of the Foundation has changed as the University’s identity has changed, however, its purpose has remained the same. In 1993. When the University became Texas A&M-Kingsville, the Foundation became the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Foundation.

During recent years, the Foundation's emphasis has been on managing invested funds in order to ensure a continuous and predictable source of revenue to support University programs.

More recently, the Foundation has been identified to help the University achieve special long-term fundraising goals with an emphasis on planned giving opportunities.
